I am an Indian American visual artist, musician, curator, and educator whose multidisciplinary practice is rooted in themes of memory, identity, ritual, and cultural inheritance. Born in rural New Jersey and raised by musicians, my early exposure to North Indian Classical music and diasporic duality continues to inform the layered, cinematic language of my visual work. I currently live and work in California, where I am engaged in both studio practice and community-based creative initiatives.
My paintings have been exhibited nationally and internationally, and are most recently represented by Maybaum Gallery in San Francisco and Seager Gray Gallery in Marin County. I was selected by the San Francisco Arts Commission for a forthcoming public art commission at the Herz Recreation Center, and have completed large-scale commissions with Square, Inc. and the Facebook Artist in Residence Program. These projects reflect my commitment to integrating art into everyday spaces and broadening access to contemporary visual narratives.
Alongside my painting practice, I curate exhibitions and community-centered projects that amplify underrepresented voices. Currently, I am organizing initiatives in Oakland that provide visibility and opportunity for emerging artists. In partnership with Sutter Health/Alta Bates Hospital, I am leading a public arts project that places student-generated artwork in medical clinics in the Bay Area—creating healing, human-centered environments through creative expression.
As a musician, I am the founder, composer, and lead vocalist of St Tropez, an indie alternative rock band, as well as the creator of Full Indian, a lifelong Indian-Americana solo project that weaves ancestral soundscapes with contemporary identity.
I hold a BS in Architecture from the University of Virginia and an MFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute. My academic background in both spatial design and fine art continues to shape the formal and conceptual architecture of my work. I have lectured at the University of California, Berkeley in the Department of Art Practice, and currently teach visual arts at the middle school level in an independent school in Oakland, where I remain deeply invested in fostering the next generation of creative thinkers.
